About

Mission

Our mission is to help young men in vulnerable communities create, entertain, inspire, and prosper through performing arts, career, and personal development.

Vision

Our vision is to deconstruct dominant narratives to achieve a more inclusive and active culture. By fostering creativity and providing the proper support, young men can take control of their lives and make positive changes in their communities.

Founder/Creative Director

Born and raised in New Orleans, Cedric Scott was raised by a single mother, his grandmother, and his older sister. Treading through life with an absent father set a course for continuous correction, a need for acceptance, and a desire to formulate ways for creative self-expression became many journeys of a thousand miles. Through support from close friends, pieces of present fathers helped Scott’s path to finding new ways of charting a course never imagined. It wasn’t until a school talent show in seventh grade that sparked the fire that Scott had so long sought. It was dance. That talent show caught the attention of a friend’s parents, and they took a strong interest in supporting the raw talent they witnessed. Scott had the great fortune of joining the Raymond Anthony Myles Singers (RAMS) choir. Led by gospel great Raymond Myles, the musical journey elevated to greater heights under Raymond’s guidance and the push to conquer the world. Scott went on to build a repertoire of success stories by winning on Showtime at the Apollo with his singing group, auditioning and being selected for a variety show created by Quincy Jones & former NBC executive Brandon Tartikoff, recording for Atlantic Records, and more. A pivotal moment was when Scott performed with Myles, only to find out Debbie Allen was in the audience. After performing and being given an opportunity by Allen, Scott’s lack of understanding and mentorship, Scott let the opportunity slip away. Though a distant mentor, Raymond Myles, a pivotal member of Scott’s growth, was murdered by a former student. Scott let the joy of the stage take a backseat. The farther he distanced from the stage, the more and more pieces disappeared. Scott went on a journey and found ways of life beyond the stage. Scott worked for luxury brands such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Porsche, and Audi. But still, personal fulfillment was lacking. While not on stage, Hurricane Katrina and fate would get Scott back into music. This time with SonyBMG in New York City while supporting some of the most prominent artists in the world. After returning to New Orleans to rebuild, Scott later got an opportunity to head a startup record label while simultaneously managing a New Orleans-based Jazz orchestra. As Chief of Staff and manager for the big band, the orchestra won a Grammy Award for Best Large Jazz Ensemble. The successes, accolades, and achievements earned throughout the years were only possible with guidance, support, and the ability to channel creative expression. Because of this, Scottland Arts Company will allow Scott to pour out what was poured in. The stage awaits; it’s Showtime!

Program Pillars.

Through Create, Entertain, Inspire, and Prosper, The Fellows Project transforms potential into purpose. These pillars don’t just teach skills—they craft stories of triumph, resilience, and impact. Each participant becomes a living example of what’s possible when creativity meets opportunity, inspiring others to dream bigger and aim higher.

Create

At the heart of The Fellows Project lies creativity, a spark that ignites innovation and self-expression. In this pillar, participants dive into a world of creative exploration. They learn storytelling, craft compelling visual stories, and produce digital media that reflects their unique voices. Creativity is the foundation for innovation. By exploring their artistic talents, participants gain the confidence to think differently, dream boldly, and tackle challenges with originality.

Entertain

This pillar invites participants to step into the spotlight and share their talents with the world. Through comprehensive training, our efforts to develop raw talent for those underserved. Through performances, showcases, and community events, young men hone their skills, build confidence, and connect with audiences.Entertainment is about connection. When participants perform, they don’t just share their talents; they inspire, provoke thought, and build bridges between themselves and their community.

Inspire

Inspiration is the heartbeat of transformation, and this pillar focuses on personal growth and resilience. Through lessons on leadership, mental health, and self-awareness, participants learn to navigate life’s challenges with grace and purpose. By inspiring participants to believe in themselves, we empower them to overcome challenges and take control of their futures. These lessons extend beyond the individual, creating a ripple effect of positivity in their families and communities.

Prosper

The final pillar is where creativity and inspiration meet practicality. Prosper equips participants with the tools they need for long-term success, including financial literacy, career planning, and entrepreneurial skills. Prosperity is about more than financial success; it’s about sustainability. By giving participants the skills to thrive, we ensure they can turn their passions into lifelong opportunities, breaking cycles of poverty and dependency.
